About this Event
Co-Creating Change: let’s talk about it.
Over the next few months the Co-Creating Change network will be hosting a series of informal conversations with brilliant people from across the country exploring ideas around co-creation: what works and just as importantly what doesn’t.
We’d love for you to join us, get chatting and dive in. Join us on this co-created journey and in these challenging times feel part of our national network that is doing good stuff and making positive social change.
All events are free and online, but need to be signed up for before hand. You can do so here.
Conversation one: the Writers and Critics
with Lyn Gardner, David Jubb, Mohamed-Zain Dada and Maddy Costa
24th November. 10.30am-12pm
Join us and our panel for a warm and real conversation about how we write about co-creation and participation in the arts.
These are just some of the questions we’ll be exploring:
Can writers and critics review participation? Who wants to read about it? Who should read and write about it?
Should this work that creates such positive social change be part of regular journalism and if so, how? Can we give it five stars and what would the criteria be?
How might this writing support, advocate and amplify our practice?
How might arts organisations profile this work on their platforms? Do they platform it enough?
What are the ethics of writing about this work? Is it ok to sensationalise stories? E.g. this arts project saved my life and took me off benefits?
Our panellists will talk about their writing and discuss amongst themselves why it’s important; who they hope will read it and what change their writing might make. There will be time to ask questions to the panel.
Panellists include Lyn Gardner, Mohamed-Zain Dada, Maddy Costa and David Jubb.
